Spring is Here! Almost

I am loving the wheat grass that I planted this year. Makes the whole kitchen feel more springy. I am also loving that we finally finished painting the kitchen. Anyone who has visited our house in the last year might notice that the blue smiley face is finally gone.

You know what else I'm loving? My new KitchenAid stand mixer that my sweet hubby got me for an early birthday and mother's day present. He said he felt guilty every time he saw me make bread with my old smaller machine. I should have been making bread more often on Saturdays. If I had only known... Yay for guilt!

Today I finally got to make my bread without having to split the dough in half. The loaves came out wonderfully large too. Mmm, time to break out the butter and honey.

It's Great To Be Eight

My little boy turns EIGHT! (insert obligatory sensitive mama line here) He's grown so tall, smart, and mature. I don't know what I am going to do when he turns 16.

The week he turned eight he decided that I'm not Mommy anymore and KC isn't Daddy, we are Mom and Dad. And he is very good about only using those terms.

We opened presents as a family the night before his birthday with Grandma and Grandpa. Then on his birthday he got to have a friend party. There was no theme. It was just meant to be "All About Andrew" and it was. The cake was plenty green (His favorite color since Isaac has picked blue.) and it wasn't too unsightly. I had issues with the frosting. Anyway he loved it all and had a great time.

I just realized why I seem to often have lousy cakes for Andrew's birthday. He is the beginning of the birthday season in the house and I'm a little out of practice.. that must be it.

All Things Cara

I just can't help it. I have share all the cute pictures of Cara from the past 2 1/2 months.

Spending time with her older cousins in Arizona for Thanksgiving.
The little ones with Mommy.
We start them young.
Christmas morning. Can you see how excited she is? It's not just bed head, her hair always sticks up like that.
Santa did remember Cara. She loves her new car seat toy.
Hanging with Daddy while visiting Grandma and Grandpa.
 The cutest thing!

Cara's new "bad" habit.

Don't I look like Elora Danon?

Crazy hair.
Hair fixed and all cutified.
Crazy hair, now with extra curl.
So sweet.
